Totally agree with this, as I grew up on a farm FAR different from the one that is described in this article. My Grandpa and Grandma have always taken such great care of their cows and truly love them. Never was a calf taken away from its mother after birth, on our farm. Before you slander all farms and farmers maybe you should do a little more investigating! Now I am going to go pour myself a DELICIOUS glass of milk!!!

I don't think it's like this everywhere. I live in Australia and have been to a few dairy farms and they are nothing like this. The standards set by government are different everywhere, but they would never get away with treating animals like this in Australia.

This is a bit of exaggeration.
I grew up in a farm, and yes cows don't really have lives other than being milked, but farmers do love their cows, and care for them.
I used to get up at 4 a.m. and shovel out their poop and changed their hay bed everyday. I knew if I were late for milking them, they will be in pain. I would rather skip school than skip milking session, because I understood the responsibility of taking care the cows.
We fed them fresh hay and corns everyday, carefully cared to their pregnancy stage and body weight.
We loved our cows and often pat them, sat next to them, and felt connections to them.

I am a vegan myself now for environmental reasons, but not all farming practice is not as inhumane as you make it sound to be.
